Collective responsibilities
Organising and running the Gathering is a lot of work and
responsibility. As we are a non-hierarchical organisation, that
responsibility lies with everybody. So, if you see something that needs
doing, then it is your responsibility to do it or ensure it gets
done.
That said, we do need to know that certain things will be covered. We
have teams of people who will be responsible for each essential area -
here is a list of roles involved in the
Gathering.
If you think you can help in any of these areas of responsibility
that would be really great. Please do get in
touch.
Workshops
Workshops at the gathering are put on by anybody and everybody. You
don't have to be an expert public speaker to put on a workshop, or
even an expert in the subject!
There is a list of workshops that have already been offered available
from the What will happen?
page.
Fancy teaching us about the evils of Monsanto? enabling discussions
on sharing of techniques for de-arrest? sharing skills for resisting the
destruction of peat? Contact us with any
ideas.
We also need facilitators for workshops - or people who would be
prepared to learn to be facilitators. Please also let us know.
Tat
To put a gathering together takes an enormous amount of equipment. If
you have any you feel is of use, please do contact us. The list of equipment that would be of
use is so large that we have set up a separate page - our wish list - please do check and see if there is
anything you can provide.
Skills
Please do let us know if you have any
skills that may be of use in the gathering.
Examples of skills include:
- Facilitation
- Mediation
- Healing
- First aid
- Construction (domes, bog building...)
- Translation (spoken languages and BSL)
- Alternative technology
- Care assistant
