Cycling
We recommend cyclists consult a map as well as following these directions; the route is approximately 10-12miles
From Newcastle station, left along Neville St. (this is going the wrong way on a one way street). Right onto Westgate Rd, go right at the end down St. Nicholas St. Over the bridge, over the Tyne. Follow the cycle path right along the river. You want to head West on the National Cycle route 14.
Follow the cycle route along the river, past the metro centre. Then the route first bears left and then runs adjacent to the A694, through Derwent Country Park, towards Rowlands Gill. Here the cycle route joins the road. Head left briefly on the A694, then left on to the B6314. The cycle path leaves this road, but follow the road, through Burnhope field. At the end of the road head right along the A692. Stay on the A692 until you get to Dipton, its a couple of miles. The community centre is in the middle of the village, set back from the road a little on the right hand side.
